What are Wraparound (BHRS) Services?

“Wraparound” is a term used to describe all the services that are included to meet the needs and difficulties of nurturing children and adolescents with complex mental health and behavioral problems. Services are funded by the Department of Public Welfare. Services can be authorized directly by DPW or the contracted Managed Care Company; CCBH. Services center on the child as an individual, but also focus on the family unit in order to ensure the child’s specific needs are being met. Services support the child in all aspects of his life including home, school, and community. Transference of knowledge and life skills to the point of self-sufficiency are the goals of the collective services.
